About Us
Canine Education is a professional dog training school
offering high quality, fun dog training in and around
West Berkshire. Run by Caroline Maskell, Canine Education uses kind, reward based
training methods, such as clicker training and aims to
enhance relations between owner and dog.
Caroline has a
particular interest in the Gundog breeds, beating every
season with her Springer Spaniel and picking up with her
Labradors at several local shoots. She was until
recently an
instructor for West Berks Gundog Club and often assists
her partner in his dog photography business
Canine
Photos. Caroline has first hand experience of living
with difficult dogs and rescues, so understands the
struggles some owners go through. The majority of our
clients come to us as referrals from local vets and
rescue centres that support our kind methods, and
through word of mouth recommendation.
All our instructors and assistants regularly attend
courses in behaviour, conferences and seminars to keep
our knowledge as up to date as possible.

Classes
Specialising in essential socialisation and
training for puppies, rescues and all ages and
breeds of both pet and working dogs. Small
classes (averaging only 8 dogs) with a minimum
of 2 experienced instructors help to ensure a
high quality learning experience. We encourage
all the family to attend especially well behaved
children.
We are one of the few training schools in this
area able to offer courses at Puppy through to
Advanced level, guided by the same instructors
throughout.

One-to-One
Tuition & Consultations
One-to-one tuition facilitates concentration on
specific areas that may be of concern.
Alternatively, consultations can cover general
guidance for those who have just acquired a new
puppy or rescue dog. Sessions typically take
place in your home where your dog can be
observed in its own surroundings allowing us to
see existing behaviours. Alternatively, you &
your dog may attend our offices where we can
provide both indoor and outdoor training
support.

Outdoor
Training
For those wishing to either work in a group
setting to further their dog's training in an
outdoor environment surrounded by new sights and
smells, or for those who want individual tuition
we are able to simulate many scenarios at our
private outdoor training grounds. Great fun!

Gundog Training
Whether you are aiming to partake in beating,
picking up or simply want to utilise your dog's
breed potential and have fun whilst doing it. No
harsh methods used. Our particular interest and
speciality is in the Retriever and Spaniel
breeds. |
Our approach is realistic. Having two young
children Caroline knows all too well the pressures that
can be on a family. We only use positive training
methods and aim to integrate our canine friends into a
harmonious household.
Contrary to popular belief, Caroline has proven that
you can have a dog that is both a successful working
gundog and family pet - quite at home with her young
children crawling all over them. Our successful
training techniques are proven in that we do not need to
take a clicker or food out with us when they are
working.
