We believe no dog is
too old to learn

Teaching you to train your dog with the help of several friendly and experienced instructors in a class environment of only eight dogs maximum. Learn basic clicker training methods and practice, with an emphasis on fun. Each dog is trained against a range of distractions improving steadiness.

Beginner Classes are ideal for:

·        Dogs that have had little or no training
·        Puppies that have completed socialisation classes and need to progress
·        Rescue dogs
·        Dogs that require a refresher course
·        Dogs and owners that are looking to have fun
·        Owners that want a dog that can think for itself
·        Dogs that want to learn without feeling intimidated

Please note that week one of a Beginners course is for handlers only - please leave your dog at home. (This does not apply if you are enrolling on a puppy or other course).
This is when we attempt to train you; the owner!  We will discuss how dogs learn, instinctive behaviours, communication and you will have the opportunity to discuss individual aims and/or concerns.

Each six week course follows a structured syllabus and each member is given a comprehensive manual with progress charts to track your dogs development. All dogs and owners are treated as individuals and are encouraged to progress at their own rate.

You will learn to teach your dog:

·        Sit
·        Lie Down
·        Stay
·        Wait
·        Come when called
·        Leave a variety of tempting objects
·        Loose lead walking
·        Targeting
·        ... and much more

We are often asked "My dog can already do most of the things that are covered in class.  How can I benefit from a Beginners Course?"   Many dogs can perform the basics at home but put them in an environment where there are distractions including other dogs and few respond.  Without using force, we aim to have dogs that respond first time despite what’s going on around them.

If your dog is comfortable around other dogs and you are willing to put the effort in, then the friendly team atmosphere along with the support of your peers creates the ideal environment to benefit from. If you have any concerns about your dog, please contact us and we will arrange a One-to-One consultation to assess their suitability for classes and provide targeted support.  Dogs aggressive to people or other dogs cannot be accepted on a course.
Our classes are very popular and book up very quickly so you may find One to One Tuition a suitable alternative in the meantime.  Enrolments are accepted on a first come/first served basis with remittance.
